Home Health Aides

Home Health Aides are Certified Nursing Assistants who provide at-home, individual personal care for patients. Patients may include people who have been discharged from a hospital or rehabilitation facility following surgery or an injury. They may also include, those with chronic sickness, terminal illnesses, or disability.

The responsibilities and care a Home Health Aide performs include:

  • Monitor and report patients’ pulse, temperature, and respiration.
  • Assist with ambulation, transfer, range of motion, turning or positioning
  • Assist with elimination, incontinence, peri care, bathing (tub/shower), shampoo hair, shave, skincare.
  • Assist to dress, comb hair, back rub, foot care, nail care, and oral hygiene/denture care.
  • Light housekeeping, make the bed, change linen.
  • Maintains the record of patient care, condition, response, and participation and reports to Case Manager or Supervisor.
